Located in the southwest part of region Utrecht in a rustic environment. Montfoort was called Mont Fortis, strong mountain, in 1163. This was the name of the castle. Bishop Godfried van Rheenen hier build diocese Utrecht to protect of attacks by the Counts of Holland. 

The à la carte restaurant is opened from Monday until Friday from 12:00 hrs. until 14:30 hrs. for lunch and from 18:00 hrs. until 22:00 hrs. for dinner. Saturdays from 18:30 hrs. until 22:00 hrs. Sundays we are open for bigger groups only.
