via Appia Antica 68, Rome, phone: +39 06 5136379

On the old Appia Antica road, just beyond the Aurelian city walls and in front of  the small church of Domine Quo Vadis, you will find the Trattoria Priscilla, housed in a sixteenth century building which once was a place to exchange horses. This trattoria has been run by the same family for the past 120 years.

It is attached to the monumental tomb of Priscilla, erected by her loving husband Tito Flavio Abascanto, a freed man from the time of the Roman Emperor Domitian. The tomb once was adorned with bronze statues which have long ago disappeared, but the tomb remains an impressive sight.

If you're looking for excellent food at a reasonable price, Trattoria Priscilla is your place. The service is a bit hectic but the owner Sandro makes up for this with his jokes and his smile. The location is great, right on the oldest road of the Roman Empire not far from the catacombs and other monuments. The homemade tiramisu is the best I ever tasted. Highly recommended!
