Looking down onto the Piazza di Spagna and Bernini’s famous fountain “La Barcaccia” from the top of the Spanish Steps, Il Palazzetto was created by Roberto E. Wirth, also President and General Manager of the legendary Hassler Roma hotel close by.
It enjoys one of the most spectacular locations in the heart of the Eternal City. It is here that Lucullus entertained and delighted his guests so many centuries before with his famous banquets.

Lovely locatiion very conveniently located next to Spagna station on Metro. It was a cool damp evening in Rome when our group visted, but the surroundings were very attractive, the service was pleasant and attentive. They have a nice wine list, although our first selection was out of stock and this was not known until after we made the request (feel a restaurant should not offer wine on their menu they do not have...just a lack of attention to detail and the "6" rating on their wine list reflects this). Food was very goodm, although portions were more oriented to presentation than quantity. Notwithstanding some minor flaws, would recommend to anyone looking for fine dining in Rome. |
