“…Glass is beautiful, it is a uber-modern, warm and welcoming precious stone, mounted in an area rightfully famous in the world for its decayed walls, the ivy climbing on the old buildings…”.
Inaugurated on May 24th 2004, Glass overlooks the historical Vicolo del Cinque, charming route for whom, from Piazza Trilussa, decides to reach Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, in the heart of this beautiful and ancient neighborhood. Planned by the Roman architect Andrea Lupacchini, with the artistic collaboration of Marco Filippetti and the creative inspiration of Alberto Brandolini, Glass has been published in numerous magazines and books and moreover awarded internationally for its design.
The competent staff is composed by 15 professionals lead by sommelier Giuseppe Carrus in the front and by chef Cristina Bowerman in the kitchen who proposes dishes in armony with the restaurant concept: balance between modern and tradition. |

A very nice, original and delicious place.
The Glass is a brautiful island in the middle of the Trastevere and their cuisine surprised us very much. |

We found this to be an excellent dining eperience. The menu was innovative and the plates imaginatively prepared and presented.The service was most friendly and helpful: the suggestion for wine was just right (and far from the most expensive on the list). All in all, a memorable evening. We will certainly retunr the next time we are in Rome, and would be happy to recommend Glass to otherds unreservedly. |

Pleasant experience and a funky menu not what you expect at an Italian restaurant. Service was great and the wine list daunting but some very good wines.
Crab cake with Pea purée and coconut foam and Fresh Ravioli stuffed with smoked potato and egg plant sauce being my particular favourites
Book this restaurant when in Rome as it is worth the visit. |

Ich war im April 2008 mit vier Freunden im Glass - und wir waren begeistert. Der Service ist perfekt. Die Kellner zeigen, wie sehr ihnen das gute Bedienen Spaß bereitet (allein wie die Weinflaschen gehalten wurden!) Das Essen: sehr gut. Wir hatten zwei Degustation-Menüs. Bei einem Preis von 40 bis 60 Euro gab es vier beziehungsweise 5 Gänge sowie viele Aufmerksamkeiten aus der Küche. Jeder Gang war eine Entdeckung. Einzig das Risotto leider nicht ganz perfekt, aber ansonsten jede Zutat erkennbar und extra veredelt bei der Zubereitung. Die Weinkarte hat für mich keine Wünsche offen gelassen. Wir hatten vornweg einen Jahrgangsrose. Sehr gut. Zum Essen zwei Weißwein aus Sardinien und Sizilien, die ich auch sonst sehr mag. Weinpreise sind billig. Zusammen haben wir 350 Euro für 5 Leute bezahlt. Perfektes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wenn ich wieder nach Rom reise, werde ich dort sein. |

It pays for the ambience and the location. Food is also very good. |

My boyfriend and I spent a very nice evening at that wonderful place in the middle of Travestere. The restaurant is modern, stylish and cozy at the same time. Staff is friendly and they make you feel welcome. Food was awesome but the choices for vegetarians are not so good. Try the black bread! :-) Don't be there before 9 o'clock in the evening, we've been there at 8 o'clock and were the only guests which wasn't so comfortable. |
