We expected to have more choice on the type of steaks to order, but that seems not how the concept of Lawry's is. You all order the same rib steak, however the weight can be different as well as how it should be cooked. The waiter carves it at your table and you can then choose the vegetables and other additions. The meat was juicy, but it was covered with too much sauce. The friendly staff did their best to provide us a comfortable evening in their funny clothes. |

good for hk standards...but doesnt compare to the Lawry's in usa or other lawrys |

In the first place, I used to live LA before and me and my wife enjoyed the REAL Lawry's very much for many times over the years.
And that's one of the reason why I picked the place for Valentine's dinner there as our favorite place.
Unfortunately, the place should not even be compared with the original one on La Cienega in Beverly.
The service, the atmosphere and the taste, all of them are far from the original one....
I think it's better that any responsible personnel would come from the States and supervise total quality of the restaurant for a while.
As a representative incident, I was so shocked when one lady called my mobile from the restaurant after I made reservation through the web site.
She reconfirmed my reservation and mentioned " We keep your table only for 15 minutes." with no "excuse us" nor any respective words to the customer on top of that.
I was about to cancel the reservation but I only kept it for my wife.
Well, if you say "It's the Chinese Hong Kong way !!!" then I just would give it kup as many of those experiences here in China... |

The waiters were very slow and inexperienced on our last trip. The steak is a bit pricey. The steak portions were not very well measured.
Perhaps these are just teething problem. The venue looks nice and is at a good location. But we had higher expections for a dinner at the Lee Gardens mall. |
