Situated along the waterfront at Marina Bay Sands, The Moluccas Room offers diners a new dining concept featuring the unique marriage of authentic Indonesian cuisine.
Besides the food at The Moluccas Room, the blend of authentic and contemporary is further reflected in the warm and inviting interior decor with stylish dark wood furniture, illuminated intricate batil motifs and custom made tableware. Full glass windows on one side of the restaurant offer a scenic view of the Marina Bay with the city outline as a backdrop.
We had our first buffet experience, and we were not disappointed! The buffet option was served at our table, and it was simply delicious. It is perfect if you want to try out different dishes from Indonesia with decent portion! Give it a try!!
The food was disappointing and did not meet our expectations. There were too many meat dishes that taste about the same. The serving was small and the dishes were not warm. Perhaps the best dish is the crackers. Service was not good either, as there seems to be a lack of servers.
Generally when we head out for Restaurant Week and mention any dietary restrictions, alternate options are either emailed to us or available for us as soon as we sit down. Not in the Moluccas Room. 3 items on the menu had an ingredient we had indicated we don't eat and the server told us that they would just not serve any of those to us- when asked for the alternative, we were told there wasn't any...sadly it was only after a casual mention of not getting a good review on the dining city website, did we get an extra serve of a dish that was already presented to us.
The food was nice but not so great that we would put up with that kind of service again...plenty of other (better!) Indo restaurants out there.
was pleasantly surprised. the 3 course meal was definitely more than what I had expected.
I don't usually eat Indonesia food but enjoyed my meal here very much. Everything tasted good and one will definitely go home with a full stomach unless you don't have the appetite for spicy food.
Despite being located in the hustle bustle of MBS, my wife and I totally had a relaxing time during our dinner, as if we were transported to an exotic Indonesian location. The mood, the service and food are excellent. Thanks for the "vacation"!
Attended for restaurant week. Arrived to find a closed sign on the door with only a few tables of diners, after confirming the restaurant was in fact still open (1:45pm Sunday) we were provided our table and run through the set menu details by an unenthused host.
The food was OK, a few of the dishes weren't too my liking but the meat was tasty as you'd expect. We certainly left full and felt value was reasonable.
The ambiance was non-existent, maybe just a slow day; the music playing was a bad female vocalist that made me want to get our quickly. Thankfully, the staff also wanted us out quickly, bringing us the open bill as soon as they served dessert and standing over me until I gave them my credit card.
I don't think I had the best experience but unfortunately I won't be giving them another chance.
Food was cold and not nice
Good service attitude and presentation of dishes.
The food was lovely but restaurant lacked atmosphere. They wouldn't serve tap water and it was very hot inside, either AC wasn't working or they hadn't turned it on.
