Overall experience was very good. It was a new experience for me dining at a fine dining restaurant overlooking Singapore's bustling shopping district. Service was pretty okay, not sure if they were less friendly than I expected them to be because I was there for restaurant week and spending lesser than the usual rich people. The food was superb, especially their dessert platter, with the creme brulee being the star of the show. A must try for future restaurant week enthusiasts who would like to take that someone special out for a quaint and gastronomic experience.

The full glass fascade of the extended high ceiling of the dining hall allows one to enjoy an expansive view of Singapore's night sky (though most of the main hall faces away from Orchard and financial skyscrapers area). Other than the Restaurant Week 3-course meal we additionally ordered an appetizer - Pan seared scallops, black pudding sausage, crushed peas, red wine reduction. The 4 slices of scallops cost $32. The scallops were much thinner and wasn't as juicy as I expected thou the crushed peas were soft and not mushy. With 2 glasses of wine, the meal for 2 pax cost close to $200 during restaurant week promotion, which is quite reasonable. Estimate that it will cost an average of $120 per pax for a 3-course meal (ala carte menu) w/o alcoholic drinks.

This year, I have finally managed to book this popular restaurant during the Singapore Dining week. We were looking forward to the celebrity chef’s feast as well as the 55th floor views, but were a little disappointed when we were not seated by the window. Once a couple of window tables became available, we asked a waitress if we could be moved to one of them, but to our disappointment were told that all tables by the window had been reserved. When no new guests had arrived by the time we finished our starters and even more tables by the window had become available, we tried our luck again, with a different waitress this time – Ania - and were moved immediately. The whole experience was greatly enhanced from then on as the view is just stunning & Ania was a member of staff that can turn a good restaurant to a great one! The set menu held no shocks with the exception of the desert tasting platter which was fun I loved the salty Toffee Ice Cream, but the food was high quality & cooked to perfection ensuring all dishes were delicious and well thought out. Ania remained our main waitress for the rest of the night and her very good service added to the great experience. We will be back to the Salt and Grill and look forward to it!

Didn't wow me with the food. I had the Foie Gras for starters, salmon for main. The salmon was fresh and cooked very nicely - no doubts about that. However, both dishes just didn't appeal to me and tasted... mediocre. Partner's Crabmeat omelette was extremely tasty. So was his tenderloin. We ordered truffle fries as side order, and it tasted amazing with the truffle taste exploding in your mouth with every bite. Had both the tasting platter and creme brulee salted caramel ice cream for dessert. Wasn't a fan of the licorice sago, but were very satisfied with the rest. The view from our seat was worth a trip there during the day.
