My partner and I had everything on the "Singapore Restaurant Week Lunch Menu". Tomato Soup with Garlic Croutons: The sour and tangy taste of the tomato soup accompanied with the large croutons that soaks up every bit of flavour from the soup was really an appetizing appetizer by itself! Foie Gras Terrine with Toasted Brioche: The foie gras was soft and melted in our mouths. The foei gras which was slightly salty was an excellent match with the toasted brioche provided. We though the dish could be improved with a larger brioche or maybe, 2 pieces of brioche would be perfect! Coq au Vin: The chicken was tender even at the breast meat portion of the chicken. We however thought that the meat has yet to soak the flavour of the sauce. The chicken and mashed potato was served in a generous portion. Baked Norwegian Salmon; Prawns with Champagne Butter Sauce: This dish was really enjoyable. Every cut of salmon and prawn, together with the sauce, was bursting with flavour with the accompanying butter sauce. Creme Brulee: The best I've tasted so far. Served in a large bowl, there was not a moment of feeling "ok. I've had enough. This is too much." The creme was light and fluffy and the caramel was thinly layered above the creme. A sweet and light dessert to end the meal with. Banana Crumble with Chocolate Ice Cream: Served also in a generous portion, we felt that the dessert was a tad too sweet. The Banana Crumble would pair well with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream instead. Service: We felt that a staff was slightly unpleasant in trying to get us to leave the restaurant as it was closing after we had paid the bill. He could have been a bit more courteous. Other than the above isolated incident, the service was excellent and the staff were proactive in serving us.

The Restaurant Week menu at Bistro Du vin was excellent. Quality and quantity both surpassed my expectations and service was also very good. Can't wait to go back!

Thinking that this would be a cheaper version of les amis, i initially had reservations about the food and service. Despite bringing a baby carriage, i was politely told where to sit and arrangements made for my family. Service was prompt and attentive and the food, delectable for a set lunch. The coq au vin was good and the desserts delicious. Perhaps the only grumble would be i expected the salmon to be a slightly bigger serving. There was no compromise in the food quality despite it being a promotional set lunch. I was suitably impressed and hope to visit again to try their other dishes, and perhaps take on the manager's offer of byo 1 for 1. In all a happy experience
