Jin Jiang Hotel South Wing, 59 Mao Ming lu, Luwan District 卢湾区锦江饭店锦楠楼，茂名南路59号
The Tandoor Shanghai, the first Indian restaurant in Shanghai, was opened in 1992 at the food street of Jin Jiang Hotel. The intimate design of the restaurant, the authentic food, the excellent service, as well as the mysteriously romantic atmosphere make it one of the best exotic theme restaurants in Southeast Asia and a favorite dining destination for gourmets from all over the world. The interiors capture the spirit of journey of the two Chinese monks, between 4th to 6th century, traveling on the Silk Route, starting from China to India. Conceptualizing on the history of Indian food, within its kaleidoscopic interiors, the restaurant is dedicated to serve authentic North Indian cuisine in a unique atmosphere……

liked the expansiveness of the menu items -- definitely filled me up. but wished to have included chicken and mutton and cheese-based curries though.... there were a lot of lower-cost veggie based dishes.......gave the feeling of "low cost" hope to see that change for next year.

My first visit to this restaurant after so many years in Shanghai. Food was excellent, service perfect and a very good atmosphere! The price value was also good as the amount of food was quite big for us. Only one thing, they should improve the wine list which is quite limited and definitely not pairing well with the food! I will recommend Tandoor to friends and definitely go back.
