Lost Heaven On The Bund

Lost Heaven On The Bund is a restaurant  with an ambiance full of Yunnan minority folklore passion, located in the Huangpu district of Shanghai.

For many centuries, the beautiful Mountain Mekong region was linked by the Tea-and-Horse Trail, a trading route that stretched from Tibet, down through Yunnan province, and into the hill country of Burma and Thailand. 

Traders on the Tea-and-Horse Trail carried tea to Tibet, and brought horses south to Yunnan, Burma and Thailand. And along the trail flowed the regional cuisines: coconut milk, lemon grass, chili peppers, curries and pu-er tea from Thailand and Burma, exotic mushrooms and native plants and pickled vegetables and legumes from Yunnan, and cheese and potatoes and smoked meat from Tibet. The result was Mountain Mekong cuisine, a rich blend of ingredients and preparations that cannot be found anywhere else – except in the dining rooms of the Lost Heaven Restaurant group.

Lost Heaven on the Bund retains the theme of “Ancient Tea Horse Trail,” with its exotic combination of Tibetan, Dai, Bai, Yi and Miao influences, and its “Mountain Mekong” cuisine, which features the recipes and ingredients of Yunnan, and Burma.
