Amarone

Restaurant Amarone is situated in the centre of Rotterdam. Amarone is light and open, but at the same time exudes warmth. Mirrors and large windows give a spacious feeling. The open kitchen, the open fireplace, the luxurious armchairs and long couches make Amarone a warm and attractive place to be.

The 'walk-in', climate-controlled, wine cellar containing more than 250 types of wine that covers the entire rear wall is very impressive. The wine list is striking, not just with respect to choice, but also because of the affordable prices that Amarone charges for its house wines.

Amarone's cuisine is French-Mediterranean, with the emphasis on the French. Chef Gert Blom has a light approach to cooking. His "signatures", such as thinly pared coquilles with hazelnut, truffle and whisked pecorino or "Fricassee of veal sweetbread with a PX sauce" show most clearly his classical training and light approach to cooking.
