L'Angoletto

We did not go. We were expecting a confirming e-mail, a phone call or some kind of acknowledgement. In the end we walked by the restaurant, a previous favorite of ours, and saw the place was completely empty but for one table at 20:15 h. When we were spotted by one of the waiters , three of them rushed us, to try and press us to go into their empty restaurant. For a Friday night in downtown Rome empty resto's are not a pretty sight. We walked away, noting though that the prices seemed outrageously high. I fear that this place had fallen on hard times and has lost its former self. A victim to the competitiveness that is Rome.

My family has come to this restaurant whenever we have been in Rome for the past 30 years. My parents went first on their honeymoon, then took me and my sister, now I am bringing my husband. As always, the atmosphere is inviting. The food is fantastic and the waitstaff is very friendly. It is a place we look forward to visiting with each trip. I highly recommend L'Angoletto!
