Heritage Square, 100 Shortmarket Street
In addition to the salad, sirloin and chips, there are several dessert options available. But other than how customers would like their steaks cooked there aren't many more decisions to make. This allows guests to focus their attention on the serious wine list. Instead of being crowded with selections, the concise list introduces guests to a changing array of local wines they would rarely get to sample elsewhere.
ALTHOUGH I ATTENDED THE AFTERNOON LUNCH SESSION AND BEING THE ONLY CUSTOMER I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE WELCOME RECEPTION AND ASSISTANCE. I HAD A FEW DRINKS OUTSIDE IN THE COURTYARD AND HAD A QUIET GLIMPSE AT THE HISTORY OF THE HERITAGE SQUARE. ALTHOUGH I WAS THE ONLY CUSTOMER ATTENDING THE LUNCH SITTING THE GUIDANCE AND ASSISTANCE REGARDING MY MEAL SELECTION AND WINE PAIRING WAS ACTUALLY QUITE REMARKABLE. THE 3 COURSE MEAL WAS EXCELLENTLY PAIRED WITH GOOD WINE AND BEING ACCOMPANIED BY THE GOOD BACKGROUND MUSIC IT CREATED A RELAXING ATMOSPHERE. I WOULD DEFINITELY BE VISITING THIS RESTAURANT SOON AND THIS TIME I WILL SURELY ATTEND THE EVENING SITTING WHICH WILL HAVE A MORE VIBRANT VIBE AND ATMOSPHERE: IT'S LIKE SEEING BOTH SIDE OF THE WORLD IN A GLANCE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

As long as you only want steak and chips and you hate making decisions off a menu, then this is the place to go. Not the most exciting dining experience. Vibe was good for drinking and dancing though.

Great steak at HQ as always. One of Cape Town's most reliable steakhouses.

Great, vibey place in Cape Town CBD. We had dinner during Restaurant Week, which was a great way to get introduced to HQ. My tip is to have drinks first in the busy bar area, enjoy their amazing meat, and hit the dance floor afterwards. PS. Great staff!
