Restaurant La Rive, located in the InterContinental Amstel Amsterdam, is one of Netherlands leading restaurants. Marked by a long tradition of culinary delights, an excellent collection of wines and genuine hospitality.
The culinary team – led by Chef de Cuisine Rogr Rassin, Matre d’ Ronald Opten and Sommelier Ted Bunnik – will see to it, that your dining experience becomes a memorable one.
Restaurant La Rive, awarded a Michelin star is inspired by French-Mediterranean flavours with vegetables and seasonal produce prepared in an innovative way. In addition, the kitchen orients on Asian influences that are added in a subtle way.
For our wine pairings we are constantly searching for extraordinary wines from specific wine regions to enhance the wine and food experience.
We kindly request you to appreciate La Rive’s dress code: tenue de ville.
Divine is the best way to describe our meal-- no, it was more like an extravaganza! From start to finish, the food service, extra complimentary courses and dishes, the wine list-- from "soup to nuts" we were completely dazzled, fussed over and spoiled. We were a table of eight, yet this caused no bumps or upsets in the "clockwork" of the meal. The room was beautiful, we were seated at a round table, much more suitable for a large party than a long table, thank you. Bravo to La Rive, the chef, staff, waitstaff, they were all wonderful. Definitely deserve their Michelin star. Can't wait to come back during our next stay at the Amstel Amsterdam.

All dishes were excellently prepared and plated, but the main course (duck) fell a little bit short due to excessive sugar content in the surrounding sauce. Service was generally crisp, although a request for extra bread with the cheese plate was either forgotten or ignored. Overall, a solid single Michelin-star establishment, on a par with others I've experienced.
