Restaurant De Roode Leeuw exists since 1911. With the wooden wall panels, art deco decorations and impressive carvings of almost 100 years old, Restaurant De Roode Leeuw can be considered a local monument. In 2006, the restaurant is completely renovated while preserving its character.
It has been a unique venue in the heart of Amsterdam for decades. Here you can have breakfast or simply enjoy a drink, a snack or an extensive a la carte meal.
Restaurant De Roode Leeuw is known for its extensive selection of Dutch regional specialties. Not only foreigners visit our restaurant, many Dutch people come here aswell to enjoy a piece of black pudding or a stew.
Between 12:00 and 18:00 the menu offers an extensive selection of small dishes, salads, healthy sandwiches and hot dishes.
From 12:00 to 22:00 we offer non-stop opportunities to enjoy à la carte meals and many Dutch regional specialties. Lobster, mussels and oysters are a major part of the year part of our range.
