Thai or Siamese cuisine was virtually unknown outside of Thailand until the middle of this century. When asked to describe Thai food one usually says "it's hot and spicy". Actually there is not a single adjective to describe the basic characteristic taste of Thai food. A large number of herbs, spices, leaves, roots and even flowers are widely used for their aromatic qualities. These include lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and of course chillies, large and small, from bright red to dull green. Another essential ingredient in Thai cooking is the coconut. Its milk or cream, blending together with the other ingredients, gives a smooth creamy base helping to create unique Thai flavors.
We have attempted to present a balanced representation of authentic Thai dishes. We hope you will enjoy the experience of Thai cuisine and return to 'work your way' through our extensive menu. We trust you will enjoy the "Art of Thai Cuisine" here at Thai Thai.
Please note that Thai Thai does not add msg to its dishes! |
