Conveniently located on the trendiest street of Amsterdam, we were one of the first Teppanyaki restaurants in the country and pride ourselves on many years of experience when it comes to preparing delicious food using the best ingredients.
Besides daily fresh sushi, our sushi bar also serves a variety of warm meals like tempura (deep fried vegetables and seafood in paste) or Yakitori (chicken sateh). The sushi bar is also open for lunch.
Teppanyaki Nippon has a pleasant and stylish atmosphere. Combine this with a delicious meal, a large selection of wine and the excellent service of our waiters, you will have the ideal location for business dinners, parties, or just a cosy evening out. |

Food: 10 | Service: 8 | Decor: 9 Excellent food in a tiypical teppanyaki surrounding. The service was good but as the evening has been busy there is some potential left. |

Food: 9 | Service: 9 | Decor: 10 Although it does not seem like much from the outside, with the ground floor empty and quiet upon entry, the upstairs of the restaurant reveals itself like a secret garden full of fire, steam, chefs intensely focused on their art, and red-faced customers, just as many smiling with pleasure as those with startled and amazed faces, wide eyes gleaming at the fast-paced motions of hands which fry the fresh ingredients with mastery which could only originate in Japan itself. One small dish after another, including zucchini, mushrooms, raw and grilled salmon, beef and vegetables, prepared in a simple yet delicious manner for over two hours in front of your watering mouth, accompanied by sake or white wine just embeds pity that restaurant week doesn't come more often. The only reason for a 9 and not a perfect 10 in the food category is the rather weak ice-cream desert with a cheap chocolate sauce on top - I would have preferred just fresh fruit, or the fried banana which I noticed on some other tables as I was leaving this wonderful place.
The service and decor are impeccable, in the true Japanese style.
Respect. |
