The Seven Seas restaurant served us a superb meal on New Years Eve. The art deco interior of the hotel is the best in Amsterdam and the food and service were of the same service. We will be back next year! |

The perfect venue for lovers of all things Art Deco. The Amrath Hotel has been lovingly restored to its former glory including the sublime Seven Seas resturant. If you are seeking a "hip and trendy" restaurant then Seven Seas will disappoint you because this place exudes sophistication and elegance, but without being pretentious. From the moment we stepped into the hotel the staff were courteous and efficient, each course and every wine was explained to us in detail and our food was beautifully presented and seasoned. Despite it being Restaurant Week, the menu was thoughtfully put together. If you like a warm romantic atmosphere with divine food and welcoming, friendly staff then Seven Seas is the place for you. |

We went to dine at Seven Seas during the Restaurant Week. We had high expectations since the restaurant was part of a 5*- hotel and was new - we thought that eating there during the restaurant week we would get a 'showcase of their best cooking.
The food was blunt to almost tasteless - we both felt that they even didn't dare to put enough salt in the food. But then we though that the desert would be great ( since very rarely a cook can make great dishes and great desserts) but that was a gastronomical disaster.
To be honest, the service was very good. The ambiance: you feel like you are eating in the cafeteria of KPN (KPN used to be based there long time ago) - it does not look like the decor of a 5* hotel's restaurant.
Maybe it was our mistake that we went there with high expectations, but we can not recommend thie restaurant neither for a romantic dinner with your beloved one nor for taking business contacts there. Sorry...
