Food: 8 | Service: 7 | Decor: 7 My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal at Palma. The service was pretty good although it took them a while to attend to us in the beginning. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside and the area outside is beautiful and very quiet. The food was very good, the tiramasu was one of the best that i have ever had. The only weird thing was that for an Italian restaurant there were no pasta dishes and on the regular menu there were very few. |

Our group had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE in the PALMA restaurant. To start with, our group was seated at the back of the restaurant. The location was very hot and we were surrounded by cupboards etc. from where the staff picked up various items throughout our meal. Deciding what to eat was not easy as the waiter had to explain us the Dutch menu. No English or even Italian version was available. During the course of our meal we encountered various other problems. Extra dishes showed up, cutlery was missing, hot water served without the tea etc. As waiters seemed to avoid us, even these simple matters became very annoying. The worst part of our experience came from the main dishes. Two members of our group were not served at all. After pointing out the absence of the dishes, it was obvious that something was quickly russled up. Our friends were finally served a terrible dish after everyone else had finished their mains. As compensation the waiter offered free dessert. Our “Grande Finale” came related to the these desserts. As the restaurants PIN machine was broken, we were required to pay by cash. When paying, it turned out that the compensation dessert was only meant for one and it did not include the dessert wine. The waiter in charge was very inflexible and even aggressive. None of us have experienced comments like “stop nagging” and “do not come back here”. This was amazing and the last comment is actually rather comical. I do not recommend anybody to visit the restaurant even for the first time! |

I have eaten in this resturant twice. After last weekend I would advise any sane person not to go there.
I brought a friend of mine to what should have been a nice celebration. We were totally dissapointed about the food. It was totally overpriced. The owner of the resturant was sitting near us, and was abusive and rude. He told us to get out of his resturant, and put his hand on my person. I am still in total shock after his treatment of us. Two ladies not allowed to express our dissapointment. This man should not be allowed to deal with the general public. The main course was 26,50 and there was totally no imagination to it. We were not allowed to comsume our expensive wine and finish our meal. We paid 116.80 euro for two and I feel something should be done about him.Having lived in the netherlands for the last 26 years, I could write this review in dutch but feel maybe in in english the tourists who come to this city should know about the bad hospitality that is should to people. I cook myself, and if I hand this meal to any of my customers, I would expect a critic to say something. For such a nice area of amsterdam, it is a shame to have such a person to run such a bad establishment.
