The name
De Ondeugd is an old fashioned Dutch equivalent for scamp or mischief, but it can also mean ‘vice' as in vice & virtue. The word is derived from the term ‘ondeugend', meaning mischievous.

In De Ondeugd, you can enjoy dining in various different atmospheres.
Book a table for fourteen in the golden room ("Patio"), or have a cosy dinner with a party of four in the disco room full of glitter and glamour. Regular customers like to book a table 'between the curtains'. Wherever you enjoy your dinner, the atmosphere is always relaxed and just that little bit festive.
Because of its many intimate corners, De Ondeugd is the 'place to be' on a first date or to celebrate your birthday; but with seating for 120 people, De Ondeugd is also ideally suited to large(r) groups.
The menu is French oriented with an Italian touch and every dish is prepared with market-fresh ingredients. The price/quality ratio is excellent; in other words: we serve restaurant food at pub prices.

We went with a party of 8 as part of restaurant week. They were quite nice about accomodating our larger party and, after some initial concerns that we may not be able to sit together, we were seated a 1/2-hour late. The wait staff was very friendly, if service was a bit slow. The food was above average, but not incredible (too much fat on the meat, flavors occassionally fell a little flat) however, all in all, it was a nice evening...until the purses of one of the girls in my party was stolen from her chair. The staff took our numbers and directed us to the next police station, but took this sort of incident as a 'fact of life'.... |
